Smackers are the communication currency of the site.

How do I earn or spend smackers?

Depending upon who sends messages to whom it will either cost you smackers, earn you smackers, or cost you nothing. You can earn smackers by replying to people who are writing to you for the first time, or by writing to people who want to meet you. The idea is to keep people from being jerks by discouraging spamming and unwanted communication, and encouraging the right kind of communication.
